Palma City Council, A Promise for Forgotten Heroes: Why is it Still Stalled? 🤔
We have received the regrettable news that two promises made by the Palma City Council to publicly acknowledge local police officers and civil servants who were victims of the Sanas incident have not been fulfilled. My heart was heavy when I heard this news. 😥 What could be the reason?

Hello everyone.
The news we will discuss today comes from the Palma City Council in Spain. It is regrettable news that the official recognition process for local police and administrative officials who faced great difficulties related to the Sanas incident has still not taken place.

Two Council Decisions, Yet No Progress
This issue has already been emphasized through two official decisions by the Palma City Council. The first decision was made on July 27, 2023. At that time, a motion was passed, led by Mr. Fulgencio Coll Bucher, requesting that local police and administrative officials who were victims of the Sanas incident be thanked through a public ceremony in a symbolic space.
Surprisingly, not long after, on March 27, 2025, a second decision of the same nature was made. This decision is recorded in detail as follows:
“The Palma City Council requests the city government to express gratitude to the local police and administrative officials, who were victims of the Sanas incident, through a public ceremony in a symbolic space before July 2025.”
The voting results for this second decision were as follows:
- For: 17 votes (PP and VOX PALMA)
- Against: 4 votes (MÉS and Grup Mixt)
- Abstain: 8 votes (PSIB-PSOE)
Despite this being a matter clearly decided by a majority vote, it is truly regrettable that neither of these two council decisions has been implemented to date. 😔 The fact that the situation has not significantly changed from July 26, 2023, makes us even more saddened.
Why Have the Promises Not Been Fulfilled?
I became very interested when I saw this news. Why are clearly decided matters not being executed? Is it due to complex administrative procedures? Or are there other unforeseen reasons? What do you think?
The Sanas incident undoubtedly left deep scars on many. Isn't it natural to express gratitude to the local police and administrative officials who quietly did their best in their positions during that time? Recognizing their dedication and hard work is something we should naturally do.
Hoping Not to Lose Hope
As I share this news, I sincerely hope that the Palma City Council will fulfill this promise as soon as possible so that the victims of the Sanas incident receive the respect and recognition they deserve. I hope that empathy and support for the difficulties they experienced can offer them even a small comfort. 🙏
Looking forward to positive changes regarding this issue, please feel free to share your thoughts in the comments!
Have a warm day. ✨
