Hello everyone! Today, I've brought you the weather news from Spain's Balearic Islands. Have you all heard of 'San Miguel's Summer' (veranillo de San Miguel)? It typically refers to the warm and clear weather experienced from late September to early October. However, this year, this period has not been as it usually is.

Goodbye to 'San Miguel's Summer'! 👋

Never miss insights like this - delivered every morning

María José Guerrero, representative and spokesperson for the Spanish Meteorological Agency (AEMET) in the Balearic Islands, stated, "'San Miguel's Summer' has now ended. From now on, we may encounter showers every day." 😮

This weather change is due to the islands being under the influence of a low-pressure system. It's as if a large mass of clouds has moved towards France, affecting the Balearic Islands as well.

How much rain has fallen? 💧

Indeed, from Tuesday afternoon at 8 PM to Wednesday morning at 8 AM, quite a significant amount of rain fell in some parts of the island. According to meteorological agency data, rain was observed in the following areas:

  • Son Servera: 22 liters per square meter
  • Muro: 21 liters per square meter
  • Colònia de Sant Pere: 20 liters per square meter
  • Pollença, Puerto de Pollença, Lluc, Faro de Capdepera: 10 liters per square meter

Quite a substantial amount of rain, wouldn't you say? 🌧️

Is it okay to shower every day? 🤔

Actually, the phrase 'you can shower every day' can be interpreted as the weather becoming so unpredictable that it's difficult to forecast. However, I prefer to view this statement more positively. After all, sometimes unexpected refreshing rain can add a certain romance to our travels or daily lives! 🌳

Thanks to sudden showers, dry land can become moist, and the air can be filled with the scent of fresh greenery. Of course, this might be disappointing news for those who had outdoor activities planned.

What do you think when you hear news of such sudden rain? For some reason, I feel a sense of calm, and I find myself wanting to gaze out the window with a warm cup of tea. ☕️

The weather is unpredictable, but our spirits are always clear! ✨

Just as there are many things about the weather that are beyond our control, it's precisely because of this that we create even more precious moments. Sometimes under the bright sun, and sometimes while getting wet in the rain.

We've explored the weather changes in the Balearic Islands, and I hope this information has been useful to you. How about continuing to pay attention to the weather changes around us and finding small joys within them?

I hope you have a warm and pleasant day today! 😊
