Hello, everyone! 👋 While there are many global issues currently, the news coming from Nepal has particularly caught my eye.

'PM resigns,' 'Army takes control,' 'Parliament in flames'... even just from the titles, I could tell that a series of extraordinary events had unfolded.

I was really drawn into these stories. What exactly is happening in Nepal? And what hidden stories lie at the heart of it all? 🤔

💡 Anti-Corruption Protests Lead to PM's Resignation

It all began with the public's outcry against corruption. On November 15, tens of thousands of citizens gathered in Tundikhel Square in Kathmandu, the capital, to protest against government corruption and incompetence.

According to BBC reports, protesters claimed that then-Prime Minister Prachaya Bahadur Deuba was defending high-ranking officials involved in bribery scandals, demanding immediate investigation and punishment for those responsible.

A protester reportedly shouted, “We can no longer live on empty promises. We need true justice!” expressing the desperate feelings of the citizens. I truly empathize when I hear such voices.

As protests spread nationwide throughout the weekend, PM Deuba eventually announced his resignation, stating he humbly accepted the will of the people. However, even just before resigning, he criticized that “certain factions are instigating political instability,” leaving a spark of conflict.

According to government announcements at the time, at least 50 people were injured and 200 arrested during three days of intense protests.

⚔️ Army Ousts the Government

The situation, which seemed like it might calm down with the Prime Minister's resignation, took an unexpected turn. This was the intervention of the military.

Around 3 AM on Wednesday, the Nepalese military abruptly seized key government buildings in the capital, Kathmandu, effectively ousting the government led by President Siddhartha Pradhan.

Major Ramesh Sharma, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense, announced on state television that it was “an unavoidable measure for national security and maintaining order,” declaring the implementation of an emergency governance system.

He added that “new elections will be held within six months,” but the sudden military intervention caused deep concern in the international community. I was truly surprised when I heard this news. It felt like democracy was being tested. 😨

🔥 Parliament in Flames, Gen-Z Asks: What Comes Next?

On that tumultuous Wednesday night, another shocking incident occurred: a fire broke out in the Parliament building.

Witnesses testified that the fire was caused by Molotov cocktails thrown by protesters, and some foreign media analyzed it as a 'symbolic act of resistance.' The burning Parliament seemed to reflect Nepal's chaotic reality.

At the heart of all these protests were the young people of 'Nepal’s Gen-Z.' Asha Rana, a university student in her twenties, emphatically stated in an interview, “We do not want to repeat the frustrations and corruption our parents' generation endured. We must build our own future.” Hearing this, I truly felt the earnestness of the younger generation. 💪

Beyond merely criticizing the government and demanding change, they are posing a fundamental question: “What comes next for us?” They are seeking a new vision and direction beyond simple resistance.

🕊️ Supporting Nepal's Tomorrow

From the PM's resignation to military intervention and the passionate voices of the young generation... Nepal is going through a tumultuous time.

I truly admire the courage of the young people who, amidst the chaos, dream of a better future and demand change. What new path will Nepal find, overcoming these difficulties?

We should all pay attention to their journey towards democracy and justice.

Don't we all, in our lives, often ask, 'What should I do now?' when answers seem elusive? Like Nepal's Gen-Z, I believe that courageously asking questions and taking action is the beginning of change.

I sincerely hope for peace and hope to fill Nepal's tomorrow. 🙏
