Hello everyone! Have you been feeling unusually tired lately, with a decreased motivation for work?

I recently came across some interesting news that made me think, 'This is really our story!' and I wanted to share it with you all. It's the news that burnout among American workers has reached its highest level in six years.

Why Has Burnout Become So Severe?

According to the recent 'WorkForces Report' by Aflac insurance company, approximately 72% of American workers are experiencing moderate to high levels of burnout. Last year, this figure was around 60%, indicating a significant increase in just one year. 😳

Even more surprising is that this report showed Generation Z exhibiting the highest levels of burnout. A remarkable 74% of Gen Z workers feel moderate to high levels of job stress. This is higher than the 66% of Millennials.

Why Are Gen Z Struggling So Much?

The report analyzes various reasons for this increase in stress. In addition to financial difficulties faced by many Americans, the unstable labor market is also having a significant impact. The phenomenon of 'Job Hugging' was also mentioned, which refers to the tendency to stay in a current job without actively seeking new opportunities due to fear of losing their current position. 😥

What Does 'Looming Undercurrent' Stress Mean?

The Aflac report describes this burnout as 'looming undercurrent' stress. It seems to refer to stress that is present in the background of our lives, continuously draining our energy without being resolved. 😥

In such situations, job satisfaction decreases, and some analyses suggest even feeling 'love-hate' sentiments towards one's company. It's regrettable that work is necessary for livelihood, but we are increasingly losing enjoyment from it.

So, What Should We Do?

It is necessary to recognize this phenomenon not merely as an individual problem, but as a societal issue. Improving workplace culture, creating flexible work environments, and establishing systems to help individuals manage stress healthily are urgently needed.

What can we do right now? Taking a moment to catch our breath and dedicating a small break for ourselves would be good. ☕️

Today's news might feel a bit heavy, but I believe that simply by discussing and paying attention to this issue together, we can begin to create change.

Wishing you all health and happiness, I will return with more useful information in the next post. 💪
